This is a networking Happy Hour to follow the first Alumni Policy Network Panel on Social and Workforce Policy and will give everyone the opportunity to further strengthen the policy network after the panel concludes. The panel is a part of the 2017 Admitted Students Weekend, so we may have some prospective students at the HH as well.
The panel (5:30-6:30 at the LBJ School) will feature LBJ Alums Nancy La Vigne (MPAff 1991), Director of Justice Policy Center at the Urban Institute, Michelle Harper (MPAff 2001), Vice President for Child and Family Policy at the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, Kori Hattemer (MPAff 2012), Director of Financial Programs at Foundation Communities, and Lauren Oertel (MPAff 2012), Program Specialist for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and will be moderated by Prof. Jamie Galbraith.
Policy Network Panels are intended to help alumni (and students) learn about career opportunities within specific policy areas. Each panel will feature 3-5 LBJ alums with diverse careers and experience all in the same policy area. The panelists will answer questions about working in the industry, questions about pay, questions about skill development, etc. The goal is to expose people to the ins and outs of working professionally within that industry.
