One of the most highly anticipated events in Austin, the Film & Food Fundraising Party brings producers, filmmakers, and actors together with local foodies and celebrities for a night of food, flowing cocktails, a raffle featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and auctions benefitting the Young Filmmakers Program. Join us at the glamorous and historic Driskill Hotel on Wednesday, October 25th from 7-10pm for a fantastic evening of inventive culinary treats, presented by 20 of Austin’s most notable restaurants. Open bar will feature various wines provided by Twin Liquors, designer craft cocktails, and ice cold Odell beer available all evening.
Come try bites from Austin’s hippest restaurants, including Old Thousand’s khao mon gai chicken spring roll, Eberly’s coal roasted potato and butternut squash gnocchi with farm vegetable “bolognaise,” Lonesome Dove’s tuna tostada with blood orange yuzu and fresno chile, and Buenos Aires Café’s suave empanadas with chimichurri.
We’re also bringing back classics like Ranch 616’s famous frito pie with venison, pork, and beef in black bean chili on fritos topped with fresh pico de gallo, ranch cheese, and a tomatillo crema, The Driskill Grill’s ricotta lamb polpettini and stufato di fagioli, and Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill will be back with their seared hanger steak with bourbon stonefruit and sweet potato puree!
Put on your best Austin-chic attire and get ready to bid on fabulous live auction items including a private tour for eight at Pixar Animated Studios in San Francisco, an Audi Sport R8 Track Initiation Experience at the Formula 1 Circuit of the Americas, a private screening for you and 50 friends at Violet Crown Cinema Austin, and silent auction items including date nights around Austin, a stay at the Sonoma Ranch in California’s wine country, signed scripts, exclusive meet-and-greets, and more! Proceeds benefit Austin Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Program (YFP). YFP encourages students, ages 9–18, to explore their creativity and improve their literacy skills through the arts of screenwriting and filmmaking. Programs are offered free through AISD schools and partner organizations annually serving over 1,800 students in the Austin community; furthermore AFF grants more than 300 students and teachers scholarships to the annual Austin Film Festival & Conference. YFP offers kids opportunities to share their creative work with peers, the public, and professional filmmakers and screenwriters. By introducing young people to the film industry, the program hopes to provide them new mediums to express their creativity, improve their communication skills, and benefit the entire arts community. Programs include Digital Storytelling, Arts Education Outreach, and AFF Summer Film Camp.
