8 DOLLARS AT THE DOOR
COME CELEBRATE THE NEXT 40 YEARS
ON THIS PUNK PLANET! TEXAS PUNK LEGENDS ALSO ON THE BILL ARE
The Next were one of the first U.S. Punk Rock bands that toured in the late-1970's and when they had a gig in New York City at Max's Kansas City a movie-screen was set-up in front of the band showing this film. Immediately when the film ended the movie-screen was lifted and the band exploded into the same song of theirs at film's end credits.
Even though The Next are considered an Austin band the members Arthur Hays, Ty Gavin, and Skip Seven formed the band in San Antonio 1978 and quickly took it to Austin where they thrived at Raul's Club and its prospering Punk Rock / New Wave scene.
Gary Davenport and Steve Sanchez of Mannequin can be seen outside of Raul's in the very first part of the film. This is a good slice of early San Antonio and Austin, Texas Punk Rock strata. 1979.
