Introduction at the screenings by Wendy Dunnam Tita.
Join us for Gray Matters (directed by Marco Orsini, 2014, 76 min.) screening as part of our fall Rooftop Architecture and Design Film Series. Eileen Gray’s uncompromising vision defined and defied the practice of modernism in design, decoration, and architecture. Making a reputation with her lacquer work, she became a sought-after designer, then reinvented herself as an architect—a field in which she labored largely in obscurity.
Gray’s pioneering work is being rediscovered today, and her legacy remains elusive and compelling. Watch the trailer below.
Pack a picnic and come early to enjoy the sunset on our Moody Rooftop!
The Rooftop Architecture & Design FiIm Series is possible thanks to co-presenting sponsors Nelson Partners and dwg. and additional sponsors Austin Foundation for Architecture Paul Koehler Brown, and Spectrum Lighting Inc., Austin. Media Sponsor: Austin Monthly.
