Join us for the City of Austin's Open Government Symposium 2018. This one-day FREE event will feature legal experts, journalists, and open government advocates discussing hot topics in open government and transparency. Listen in and participate as our panelists dive into detail on timely issues like open government in the age of technology, how to combat fake news, and the role of investigators in ethics compliance. Plus, mix and mingle with other professionals interested in transparency and government during the networking breaks.
This event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested to ensure adequate seating. Attending attorneys will be able to receive four hours of free Continuing Legal Education credit, including one hour of ethics credit.
The symposium will take place in the Special Event Center in the new Austin Central Library. Enter on the South/Cesar Chavez St. side of the building.
Coffee and sign-in begins at 8:30 AM, and the opening remarks will start at 9:00 AM.
Parking will be validated for parking at City Hall. City Hall is located at 301 W. 2nd St., and the parking garage can be accessed on Guadalupe St. City Hall is about a 5 minute walk to the library. Parking is available in the library garage for a fee.
