Want to make an impact but overwhelmed and don't know where to start? Yeah, we know the feeling. That is why we created this series of workshops.
Are you a data geek or just love studying numbers, or are you just intrigued with testing hypotheses and creating rapid prototypes?
Well, you are in luck. Our next SocialGood.us's Social Innovators Meetup is 5/16/18, right around the corner and we need your input and intellect at this next event.
In April we held our first meetup, we discussed what the Global Goals for Sustainable Development were and how we could relate them to Austin. Over 50 people showed up to determine Austin's biggest issues and identify the organizations that need to be at the table to at...tack these issues.
We are on our fast track to building Austin's biggest Social Impact Heat Map. That is a tool that can help everyone understand the biggest activity around impact in the city and how people can get engaged.
We have a jam-packed interactive event waiting for you. We have our friend Jay Crossley, Executive Director of Farm+City, who understands how data, policy, and the goals intersect. He will be joining us to show us how a tool like the one you will help build can help exponentially grow our impact.
Here is our schedule.
6:00 — 6:30 — Networking
6:30 — 6:40 — Speaker: Jay Blazek Crossley on the overlap of Global Goals
6:40 — 7:00 — Reflecting on the data from April 24 Meetup
7:00 -7:10 — Break
7:10 — 7:45 — Activity: Finding links among the Global Goals
7:45 — 8:10 — Activity: Wishlist of Austin's Social Impact Map
8:10 — 8:20 — Recap
There will be food and drink served to start our networking session. Please arrive early as we have some interactive questions we need you to use as you meet people.
What is next?
We are glad you asked. We are on a mission to take all this information from you, the impact community, and help build out the Social Impact Heat Map during the ATX Hack For Change event coming up June 1st — 3rd. We will share more info how you can be involved in this monumental project.
