EXHIBITION OPENING RECEPTION SATURDAY MAY 12 from 4PM-6PM
Come enjoy “The Silent City’s Sound and Light Bath,” an extraordinary “Immersive Experience” in the museum’s Visiting Artists’ Gallery. Interact with musical consoles to alter the experience of the room, in sound and light, emanating from hand-cast illuminated resin lamps hung from the ceiling. A truly unique exhibition experience, it runs from Friday May 11 through Sunday June 24. «Silent City» is Lauren Gurgiolo, Wendy Mitchell, and Lindsay Greene; the project is supported in part by a grant from the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
Also ponder Catherine Lee’s Four Constants—Constant Trial, Constant Deliverance, Constant Sorrow, and Constant Question--the four monolithic outdoor sculptures that remain on extended loan. Crafted of cut, welded, and patinated bronze, they join Lee's «Hebrides #6: Clach an Trushal,» on loan from The ContemporAry Austin in its Museum Without Walls program, made possible in part with support from the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation.
