We invite our queer people of color community members to join us!
We are so excited to learn with you about basic skincare, products, and treatments you can use based on your skin type and life style. Our skin is like a map to our wellness and the way we live. Since life changes, so does our skin! We encourage you to share tips with your fellow QTPOC folks on what you use to care for conditions that occur due to hormone changes, stress levels, and daily habits. Xylina, a trained Makeup Artist and Esthetician, will show you how to make an exfoliating scrub based on your type so you can bring a little spa home.
Meet our facilitator! Xylina Cardiel, the self-proclaimed Queen of Radical Softness is an Artist first but a Healer at heart who uses her creativity to encourage self expression and growth through Fashion, Makeup, and Skincare. She uses her hands to send energy to the heart and heal you from the inside out. She believes that self love and self care is key to a peaceful heart and a cute face. She supports outward expression as a form of rejection from beauty standards created to oppress the QTPOC community and create peace with the physical self. Xylina has studied at Parsons School of Design with a degree in Fashion Design and Baldwin Beauty School for Esthetic practices.
Join us on Tuesday, June 12th, at 6:30 PM for a community conversation on skin health and skin care.
This event is one of many this year around promoting the well being and vitality of QPOC communities in Austin, TX. For more information about this and other Health and Wellness events, send a message to [email protected]
