This is an open forum for discussion around the topic of conscious and deliberate relationships (platonic and otherwise). We are all just humans trying to get along, stumbling in the darkness as we seek the light.
We will sip fine Chinese teas (served in the style of Gong Fu Cha) while we engage in the work of showing up for each other honestly, authentically, mindfully, and deliberately.

*on safe spaces*
This forum is the kind of safe space where everyone present will be afforded the respect of a sovereign being. You will be heard and your thoughts and words will be taken seriously.
This is not the kind of safe space where controversial ideas will be censored, although guests are expected to speak with compassion. I firmly believe that as humans we have far more in common with each other than not, and that the more we listen deeply and engage authentically with each other, the more we will all grow to realize that.
*on the impetus for this event*
In January of 2017 I (Vervain) started the Polyamory & Ethical Non-Monogamy Open Forum & Tea Service (more fondly known as Poly Tea or the Poly Sit). For 16 months I held the space for people practicing and/or curious about polyamory and other forms of ethical non-monogamy to come and have the conversations around the questions that come up in these practices.
In that space, I found that most of the deep, difficult, and truly engaging talk that needs to be had around non-monogamous relationships was the same deep, difficult, and engaging talk that needs to be had in all relationships. I felt called to remove the “poly” label from these conversations and make it clear that I wanted to hold this space for everyone who desires to discuss conscious relationship, regardless of their relationship style or desired partner count.
I also felt that, as I myself had stopped actively seeking additional partners, a space specifically for poly folk and poly-relevant conversations was no longer mine to hold.
That said, I hope that many of you who joined me monthly for the Poly sit will continue to join me as I open the conversation in the hopes of refocusing it. I value each of you for the unique perspective you bring and for the wisdom you have earned on your path, and I look forward to sharing many more conversations and many more cups of tea with you.
Additionally, I hope that those of you still seeking a poly-specific forum will welcome the new host/ess with open heart and arms. 🍵
